Mike McLane is a Republican member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 55. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010. In the 2013 session, McLane serves as State House Minority Leader.

Biography

McLane earned a B.S. in Agricultural Resource Economics from Oregon State University in 1987, and a J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School. His professional experience includes being a partner in the law firm Bryant, Emerson & Fitch, LLP. He is also the co-founder and former CEO of a publishing company. McLane co-authored the children's book Wooden Teeth and Jelly Beans. He is an officer in the Oregon Air National Guard as a staff judge advocate. McLane served in the Army National Guard.[1]

The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Richard Phay was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Mike McLane was unopposed in the Republican primary. Frank W. Brannen is running as a Libertarian candidate. Phay, McLane and Brannen will face off in the general election.[2][3]
