Millington Township Fire Levy Renewal (August 2012)

This measure seeks to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $.35 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further six years in order to continue to pay for fire department operational costs in the township.

The question on the ballot:
|Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under article IX, section 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Millington Township, of .3591 mills ($.3591 per $1000. of taxable value), be renewed at .3591 mills ($.3591 per $1000. of taxable value) and levied for (6) six years, 2013 through 2018 inclusive, for fire department operations including but not limited to, first responder services, fire equipment purchase and housing; raising an estimated $36,666 in the first year the millage is levied.|
