A Minden Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Minden, which is in Sanilac County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $2 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further two years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township. It was approved.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Minden Township, of 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), reduced to 1.9908 mills ($1.99 per $1,000 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for 2 years, 2012 through 2013 inclusive, for the purpose of supplementing fire protection services and fire equipment acquisition, which 2 mills increase will raise an estimated $90,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied?[1][2]
