The 3rd congressional district of Minnesota will hold an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 4, 2014.

Minnesota is one of 14 states that uses an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.[1][2][3]

Heading into the election the incumbent is Erik Paulsen (R), who was first elected in 2008.

Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District is one of the wealthiest in the state, encompassing the suburbs of Hennepin County to the north, west and south of Minneapolis.[4]

2012

The 3rd congressional district of Minnesota will held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012, which incumbent Erik Paulsen won.[6]

2010

On November 2, 2010, Erik Paulsen won re-election to the United States House of Representatives. He defeated Jim Meffer (D) and Jon Oleson (I) in the general election.[7]
