Minnesota State Auditor
The Minnesota Auditor is a constitutionally established state executive position in the Minnesota state government.
The Office of the State Auditor oversees spending by local governments in Minnesota through financial, compliance, and special audits.

The state auditor must have the following qualifications:
- Be a qualified voter
- At least 21 years of age
Minnesota elects state auditors in the midterm elections, that is, even years that are not Presidential election years. For Minnesota, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 are all state auditor election years. There are no term limits.
