This page details Minnesota signature requirements. The signatures of registered voters are often required to place candidates or initiatives on the ballot. However, for candidates, filing fees are sometimes required or accepted in lieu of signatures.

Partisan candidates for Senate must pay a filing fee of $400 and an affidavit of candidacy.[1] In lieu of the filing fee, candidates may submit nominating petitions with 2,000 signatures for Senate.[2]

U.S. House

Partisan candidates for House must pay a filing fee of $300 and an affidavit of candidacy.[1] In lieu of the filing fee, candidates may submit nominating petitions with 1,000 signatures for House.[2]
