The 3rd congressional district of Missouri will hold an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 4, 2014.

Missouri is one of 14 states that uses an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.[1][2][3]

Heading into the election the incumbent is Blaine Luetkemeyer (R), who was first elected in 1998. Prior to redistricting due to the 2010 census, he served as the representative of Missouri's ninth congressional district.

Missouri's 3rd Congressional District is located in the eastern portion of the state and includes Lincoln, St. Charles, Franklin, Jefferson, Warren, Montgomery, Callaway, Osage, Gasconade, Maries, Cole, Miller and Camden counties.[4]
