Three Monroe City Civil Service Procedure Elimination measures will be on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the city of Monroe, which is in Monroe County.

These three measures will ask voters if they want to eliminate the civil service procedures for the city police and fire departments. All three referendum questions need to be approved for the changes to be made to the charter.[1] The language for the measures has been officially approved which means that council members can now plan and prepare for meetings which will help inform voters about the issues and ensure that there is less confusion due to the amount of measures that will be voted on.[2]

The measure which would have put the clerk/assessor and treasurer positions under the authority of the city manager has been taken off the ballot. A lawsuit was brought before a judge about the measure which led to an injunction of the measure. There is not enough time before the election for the city to rework the measure to allow it to be on the November ballot. The issue with the measure is that it exceeds the 100 work limit and one subject rule.[3]
