The Montana Daylight Savings Time Referendum may appear on the 2012 ballot in the state of Montana as a legislatively-referred state statute. The measure was introduced during 2011 session on January 20 and is being sponsored by State Senator Terry Murphy. The measure, if sent to the ballot by voters, would allow the state to opt out of daylight savings time year round, and would keep Montana consistently on Mountain Standard Time. The Montana Legislature must pass the measure before sending it to the ballot in November 2012.[1]
