A Montgomery County Human Services Replacement Levy measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Montgomery County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 129,360 (70.03%) Approveda
  • NO 55,359 (29.97%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current 6.03 millage that is in place which helps fund these services in the county. The original levy was passed in 2003 and will expire at the end of 2010. The cost for an average homeowner in the county is around $16 a month.[2]

The cost for a homeowner with a $136,000 home is currently $263.23 per year. Since the new levy passed, the cost will increase to $287.75 or $23.98 per month. (per actual property tax records)[3] If the levy renewal had not passed, the owner of the $136,000 home would have no longer been required to pay the $263.23 per year.
