NRA Liability Bill to be heard in Senate
HONOLULU, Hawaii: House Bill 679, a bill designed to protect NRA certified instructors from liability lawsuits, has been scheduled to be heard by the Judiciary and Labor Committee of the Hawaii State Senate on Monday, April 2.
The bill was introduced by Representative Ken Ito (D) and six other state representatives and is supported by the National Rifle Association. It would exempt firearms instructors who have been certified by the NRA from liability lawsuits for injury or damage caused by accidental discharge of firearms while providing training to obtain a permit to own firearms. Instructors are currently vulnerable to lawsuits due to Hawaii's liability laws.
