Napa County, California ballot measures
Slow Growth initiative rejected
Napa County Supervisors voted 3-2 on March 4th to halt Supervisor Brad Wagenknecht’s idea to place a purely advisory measure on the ballot so voters could say they supported slow growth. Opposition of the idea came from the fact that they do not want to confuse voters and oppose making this initiaitve appear as partisan politics.
The Responsible Growth Initiative would essentially take power away from the Board of Supervisors to approve major developments by making the county’s 1 percent growth cap into a voter-approved measure.
