The only two bond referendums approved were for the Cumberland Regional district, where voters approved $9.9 million to issue bonds for replacing a roof and solar panels in the high school. In Montague Township, voters approved over $395,000 to issue bonds for partial roof replacement at the elementary school[1].

The most notable referendum defeats was first in Edison Township when voters defeated two ballot questions valued at over $166 million to build a new elementary school and renovate 13 schools. The other notable defeat was in Jackson Township, where voters defeated four ballot questions totalling $29.45 million dollars. The next round of school bond referendums in the Garden State will be held on March 9, 2010[1].
