The New Mexico School Board Amendment appeared on the November 4, 2008 ballot in New Mexico. It was one of five proposed constitutional amendments the New Mexico Constitution that were legislatively-referred to the ballot by the New Mexico State Legislature.

The amendment increased the size of certain school boards to nine members and conduct the election by mail-in ballot or as otherwise provided by law.

Twelve state senators introduced Senate Joint Resolution 6 (SJR 6) which authorized placing the proposed amendment on the ballot.
