The New Mexico Secretary of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources is an appointed state executive position in the New Mexico state government.

As head of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department the Secretary is responsible for four goals of the department - make the state a leader in energy development, protect the environment, managing and growing sustainable forests and improving the state park system. [1]

Current officeholder

The current officeholder is F. David Martin. He was appointed by Gov. Susana Martinez on April 15, 2013 to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of John Bemis.[2]
