Torres is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 80. Torres ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. Incumbent Naomi Rivera (who is also running on the Working Families Party ticket) was defeated by Mark Gjonaj in the Democratic primary. Patrick A. McManus ran unopposed in the Conservative Party primary. William Edstrom ran unopposed in the Green Party primary. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
