Language on the ballot:

Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Niles Charter Township, of one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), be renewed at one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for four (4) years, 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for contracting with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for police protection, raising an estimated $353,165.00 in the first year.[1][2]
