In 2013, five of the top enrollment school districts in North Carolina held elections for a total of 21 school board seats across the state. In 2014, 36 of the top enrollment school districts in North Carolina will hold elections for a total of 135 seats. Seven of these districts will hold elections on May 6, 2014 while the other 29 districts will hold their elections on November 4, 2014.
