The North Dakota Parental Rights Initiative may appear on the November 4, 2014 ballot in North Dakota as an initiated state statute. The measure, upon voter approval, would create a legal presumption that each parent is a fit parent and entitled to be awarded equal parental rights by a court unless there is clear evidence to the contrary.[1]

The petition was approved for circulation on June 18, 2013. This means that supporters must turn in 13,452 valid signatures by March 12, 2014 in order to qualify the measure for the June 2014 ballot or by June 18, 2014 to qualify the measure for the November 2014 ballot.
