The question on the ballot:

As a renewal of previously authorized millage which will expire with the 2011 levy, shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in the Township of Northfield, County of Washtenaw, Michigan, be increased by 1.8684 mills ($1.8684 per thousand dollars of taxable value) for a period of four (4) years, 2012 to 2015, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for police protection in Northfield Township? It is estimated that 1.8684 mills would raise approximately $329,627.94 when first levied in 2012.[3]
