Ohio Issue 1 was on the November 3, 1953 ballot in Ohio as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.
A short summary of the ballot question on the ballot said, "To authorize the issuance of bonds up to $500 million, the proceeds thereof to be used to construct an adequate highway system for the State of Ohio."
Issue 1 amended Article VIII of the Ohio Constitution.
