An Ohio State Lottery Amendment, Issue 1 was on the May 8, 1973 ballot in Ohio as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.

  • Yes: 973,956 (64%) Approveda
  • No: 547,655 (36%)


The question on the ballot:

To authorize the state to conduct lotteries, the net proceeds of which shall be paid into the general revenue fund of the state (Art. XV, Sec. 6)[1]
