Onzlee Ware is a former Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 11 from 2004 to November 14, 2013. He resigned to spend time with his family.[1]


Ware earned his B.A. from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University in 1976 and his J.D. from North Carolina Central School of Law in 1984.

Since 1988, Ware has been the owner of the Law Office of Onzlee Ware and Associates.[2]

Ware's answers to the Virginia State Legislative Election 2005 National Political Awareness Test are available. The test provides an overview of a candidate's views on a number of issues. Ware did not answer the question asking his top priorities.[3]

  • HB 1644 Early voting; qualified registered voter may vote in person from 19 to three days before election.
  • HB 2266 Freedom of Information Act; exemption for name, address, etc., of complainants relating to zoning.
  • HB 2662 Community development authorities; allowed to request additional taxes from locality.[4]

Ware won re-election in the 2013 election for Virginia House of Delegates District 11. Ware ran unopposed in the June 11th Democratic primary. He was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 5, 2013.[5]

On November 8, 2011, Ware won re-election to District 11 of the Virginia House of Delegates. He was uncontested in the August 23 primary and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[6]
