Owen Diaz was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 55 of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Diaz was the mayor of Milan, Michigan from 2004 to 2008. He is an inventor who has worked as a securities broker, investment advisor, financial planner, and medical administrator. He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where he studied finance.[1]

Diaz considers himself a moderate who is in the Republican Party on the basis of socially conservative views.[2]

Diaz ran in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 55. He ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and was defeated by Adam Zemke (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [3]


Diaz was born in the Philippines and orphaned at the age of five. He is married with a grown son, a doctor who has served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan in the U.S. Army.[2]
