Owen H. Johnson is a former Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 4 from 1973 to 2013 and serving as Assistant Minority Leader for Policy and Administration from 2009 to 2010 and Vice President Pro Tempore of the New York State Senate prior to that.

Johnson was in the United States Marine Corps.

Johnson earned his BA in History/Political Science from Hofstra College in 1956.

Johnson did not seek re-election in 2012. It was originally believed that he would be the Republican candidate and his announcement came after nominating petitions were submitted on his behalf.[1]

2010

Johnson was unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He defeated Maeghan Lollo (D) in the general election.[2] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, Johnson was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and Working Families Party.
