Patricia Birkholz

Patricia Birkholz has been a Republican member of the Michigan Senate since 2002. Birkholz was re-elected in November in 2006 with her term expiring in 2010. Birkholz is term-limited in 2010. Birkholz currently serves as the President Pro Tempore of the Michigan Senate as Lieutenant Governor John Cherry serves as the President of the Senate. Birkholz also served on the Michigan House of Representatives from 1996 to 2002 and briefly was the Assistant Majority Leader in 1997.Birkholz started her political career as a Treasurer for Saugatuck Township from 1982 to 1992 and for Allegan County from 1992 to 1996. Birkholz also was a Former District Staff Assistant for Congressman Fred Upton from 1990 to 1992. Birkholz graduated from Western Michigan with her Bachelor's degree and is currently working on a Master's in Public Affairs from Western Michigan.
