Fahy earned her B.S. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University and her M.P.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.[1]

Fahy ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 109. Fahy defeated Margarita Perez, Frank J. Commisso, Jr., Christopher T. Higgins, Jim Coyne, and William J. McCarthy, Jr. in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Fahy also ran unopposed on the Working Families Party ticket and lost the Independence Party of New York State primary to Theodore J. Danz, Jr., who also ran unopposed in the Republican primary.

Fahy defeated Danz (R) and Joseph P. Sullivan (C) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
