Patricia M. Maher was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of New York.[1] Maher ran uncontested for the Democratic nomination in the primary on June 24, 2014.[2] She was defeated by incumbent Peter King (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]

Maher was a candidate for County Legislator in 2011. She won the Democratic primary by 60 percent, but lost in the general election.


Maher received a master's degree from Hofstra University. She was the Director of Development and Community Education for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties and was in charge of educating the public about seizure disorders.
