Patrick McKnight was a 2013 Libertarian candidate for District 16 of the New Jersey General Assembly.

McKnight earned B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Sociology from Rutgers University in 2007. His professional experience includes being the President of US Athletic Fields, working as an organic farmer, and as a former History teacher at Camden Academy Charter School.[1]

Political philosophy

McKnight's campaign website highlights the following issues: [2]

  • "New Jersey is in economic and political crisis. Neither the Republican nor Democratic Parties offer real solutions. This should not be surprising considering their policies helped create the problems. New Jersey is the Crossroads of the American Revolution yet today we are the most overtaxed, over-legislated Citizens in the country. We deserve better."
  • "The United States Congress has a dismal 10% approval rate yet an unbelievable 50% re-election rate. We the People must hold politicians at every level accountable for taking away our rights as well as our wealth. We have a 16 trillion dollar national debt we cannot pay so instead the Federal Reserve devalues our savings by printing money out of thin air. We must restore the legal supremacy of The Constitution and Bill of Rights. The most direct path back to freedom and solvency begins with the abolishment the unconstitutional Federal Reserve monopoly on legal tender."
  • "I will go to Trenton not only to work with you but to work for you as your neighbor. Public servants are supposed to work for their constituents not their own personal self-interests. I am a farmer and not a career politician."
