Schoen earned her BS/BA in Business/Economics from West Virginia University. She went on to receive her JD from West Virginia University College of Law in 1997.
Schoen has worked on the Staff of Charles F. Schoen, Certified Public Accountant and as a Realtor for Caldwell Banker-Taygold Realty. From 1997 to 2000, she worked as a Lawyer for Eagloski Law Offices. She has been a lawyer/owner of Schoen Law Offices since 2000.
While a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, Schoen served on the following committees:

Schoen did not run for re-election in 2010.
In 2008 Schoen was re-elected to the West Virginia House District 14. Schoen (R) finished with 8,231 votes. She was behind Troy Andes (R) with 9,323 votes and was followed Jeff Martin (D) with 6,145 votes and Karen Coria (D) with 5,992 votes. Schoen raised $12,820 for her campaign fund.
