There was going to be a Payson Town Budget Override measure on the March ballot in Gila County for voters in the town of Payson, but it was not approved.

There was a limit set on the town budget in 1980,allowing for increases as population increased, but residents thought it would help limit government spending. Now this measure seeks to override that limit, it would increase taxes and would limit what the government could spend the money on. If the measure is not passed the town government will not have the funds available to run the town and even though this comes during the recession, city council members see this as the only way to keep the town alive.[1]
