Peter Lopez is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 102 since 2013. He previously represented District 127 from 2007 to 2013. Lopez's political experience also includes clerk for Schoharie County; member of Schoharie County Board of Supervisors; and supervisor and trustee for the Village of Schoharie.

Lopez's professional experiences included district office director for New York State Assembly Minority Leader John Faso; assistant director for New York State Legislative Commission on Rural Resources; associate director of New York State Senate Agriculture Committee; and executive assistant for New York State Senator John Bonacic.

Lopez earned his BA from State University College at Cobleskill and MPA from the University of Albany. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children; Brandon, Steffy, Ben, and Noah.[1]

Lopez ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 102. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He defeated James A. Miller in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
