He defeated Bob Becker, Bruce Hawley, Jeanine Herlacher, Paul Hibbard, Steve Jazwiec, Tim Nelson, Tom Norton and Dennis Smith in the August 3 Republican primary. He faced Jerrod Roberts (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.
