Peter Murphy (b. July 15, 1949) is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He has represented District 28 since January 10, 2007.

Murphy served as Southern Maryland Field Representative for U.S. Senator Paul S. Sarbanes from 2003-2006. He has also worked as Director of Mediation Services, Circuit Court of Prince George's County, had a private meditation practice, and was Director of Murphy & Milano, Incorporated.

Murphy is founder of the Foster Children's Support Fund, a founding member of Conservancy for Charles County, and a member of the Commission on Civic Literacy, and Charles County Council on Aging.[1]
