Steck ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 110. Steck defeated Kevin O. Frazier, Timothy D. Nichols, and Joe Landry in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. He lost to Jennifer Whalen in the Independence Party of New York State primary. Steck defeated Whalen (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
