Ting won election in the 2012 election for California State Assembly District 19. He advanced past the June 5, 2012 blanket primary, defeating James Pan (D), and Matthew Del Carlo (R). Ting defeated Michael Breyer (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
