Gim is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 40. He defeated Sunny Hahn in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. Yen S. Chou, Ethel Chen, Ronald T. Kim (who is also running on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets), Martha Flores-Vazquez, and Myungsuk Lee are running in the Democratic primary. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
