Philip Moran is a Republican member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing District 46. He was first elected to the chamber in 2011.

Moran is a former Hancock County Supervisor and board president.

Biography

Moran attended Mississippi State University. His professional experience includes working as a private business owner with economic development projects along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.[1]

Moran won the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 46. He defeated both Brian Cuevas and Fred Sullivan in the August 2, 2011 primary, and defeated Mickey Lagasse in a primary runoff election on August 23, 2011. Joe Bye ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary and James Overstreet ran as a Constitution Party candidate. Moran defeated Bye and Overstreet in the general election on November 8, 2011.
