Phillip Goldfeder is a Democratic candidate in the September 13 special election for the New York State Assembly, District 23. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when Audrey Pheffer (D) resigned from the Assembly to become the Queens County clerk.[1][2]

Goldfeder is a graduate of Brooklyn College. He has been involved in city government for a number of years, working as a Legislative Aide for the New York City Council and working in the Mayor's Community Affairs Unit. Golfeder and his wife have two children.[3][4]

Goldfeder defeated Jane Deacy (R) in the September 13, 2011 special election. Goldfeder also ran on the Independence and Working Family Party tickets.[5]
