A Plymouth Township Fire Levy Implementation measure was on the February 28, 2012 ballot in the township of Plymouth which is in Wayne County.

  • NO 6,517 (83.94%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to create a fire assessment district and implement a levy in the amount of 10 mills for an ongoing amount of time in order to help pay for fire equipment and vehicle costs in the township.[2] The local firefighters had been urging residents to vote no on this measure because this was not the levy that they wanted and saw this one as hurting the community more than helping it. Noting that the proposed measure would hire an outside ambulance company to provide services and there was no sunset on the levy. The firefighters had tried to get a referendum on the ballot but the township Trustees put this on instead.[3]
