Protect Maine Equality is the official organization opposing Maine Same-Sex Marriage People's Veto (2009). Their official website was launched in early August 2009.[1]

"The strength of our campaign is about Maine people sharing their stories with other Maine people about fairness and equality under the law," he said. "What's private should remain private. No one should impost their religious beliefs on the rest of us," said Mark Sullivan, Equality Maine communications director.[2]
