Randolph Townsend (b. January 24, 1947) was a Republican member of the Nevada State Senate.

Townsend joined the Nevada State Senate in 1982. He served in that position, representing the Washoe 4 District, until his resignation in April 2010 when he was appointed to the Nevada Gaming Commission.[1] Senator Townsend was one of many senators term-limited out when Nevada's 75th session closes; this will mark 28 years of being a Nevada State Senator for Townsend.

Townsend attended San Francisco State University. He went on to earn his BS and MEd from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Townsend has worked as an Advertising Executive. He is currently Adjunct Faculty for the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also President and Board Member of Northstar Investors, Incorporated.

Townsend has a wife, Robyne.

Elections

2010

Townsend, who resigned his state senate seat in 2010, could not have sought re-election in the state's 2010 state senate elections because of the state's term limits.[2]

2006

On November 7, 2006, Townsend won re-election to the Washoe 4 District Seat in the Nevada State Senate unopposed.[3]
