A Rawson District Library Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the Rawson library district area, which is in Tuscola County.

This measure sought to renew the current library levy which is set at a rate of $.75 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further twelve years in order to continue to pay for library operational costs in the district. It was approved.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Rawson Memorial Library, County of Tuscola, Michigan, a district library, levy an amount not to exceed .75 mill ($.75 on each $1,000 dollars of taxable value) against all taxable real and tangible personal property within the Rawson Memorial Library District for a period of twelve (12) years, 2013 to 2024, inclusive, of which .7455 mill is renewal of the millage rate that expires in 2012 and .0045 mill is new additional millage to restore the millage rate previously authorized, for the purpose of providing funds for all District Library purposes authorized by law; and shall the District Library levy such millage for said purpose; the estimate of the revenue the District Library will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the District Library in the 2013 calendar year is approximately $118,000? A small portion of the revenue collected may be required to be distributed to the Village of Cass City Downtown Development Authority.[1][2]
