An effort to recall Ray Curtis and Alex Cassadas from their respective positions as President and Clerk of the Banning Unified School District School Board in California was launched in July 2013.[1] The recall did not go to a vote.

Background

Parents Carrie Shook and Kerri Mariner led the recall effort against Curtis and Cassadas. They were upset over the handling of the unexplained resignation of former-superintendent Lynne Kennedy and the hiring of new superintendent Robert Guillen. The situation led to the resignation of two school board members as well; Wendell Bainter resigned along with Kennedy, and Veronica Histed resigned upon the appointment of Guillen.[1]
