R. Ray Peterson (b. May 3, 1959) is a Republican member of the Wyoming State Senate. He has represented District 19 since 2005. He was appointed in 2004 and re-elected in 2008.

Peterson's political career began with his service on the Town Council of Cowley from 1986 to 1992. He then served as County Commissioner for Big Horn County in from 1992 to 2000. In 2002 Peterson ran for the Wyoming State Senate but was defeated. He was then appointed to the Wyoming State Senate in 2005.

Peterson attended Northwest College from 1977 to 1978. He went on to attend Brigham Young University from 1981 to 1982.

Peterson has worked as Vice President for Office Shop Incorporated since 1984.[1]
