Beliefs that are important to me are serving the people of HD71 with a common sense approach. Private property rights, second amendment rights, and significantly decreasing our wolf population are very important to me along with supporting our youth and education.

Shaw won election in the 2012 election for Montana House of Representatives, District 71. Shaw defeated Robert Kennedy and incumbent Bob Wagner in the June 5 primary election and defeated Kim Miller (I) and write-in candidate Donald J. Lepinsky in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
