Raymond Walter is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 146. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012 when he won a special election.

He previously represented District 148 from 2012 to 2013.


Walter earned a BA in History from the University of New York College at Geneseo in 1994, and a JD from State University of New York School of Law at Buffalo in 2007. His professional experience includes working as an attorney at Magavern Magavern Grimm LLP, as a research assistant at the Erie County Charter Revision Commission, and as a law clerk at the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.[1]

Walter ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 146. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He defeated Joanne A. Schultz in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
