Rebecca Ellis is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Washington-Chittenden-1 since January 2011. Ellis was appointed by Governor Peter Shumlin to replace Sue Minter, who stepped down to serve as Deputy Secretary for the Agency of Transportation. [1]

Ellis is an attorney, and is currently the Assistant Attorney General. She served on the Waterbury Selectboard for five years, three of those years serving as board Chair. Prior to her service there, she served on the Waterbury Planning Commission for five years.

Ellis received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University. She received her Masters in Public Administration from Princeton and her Law degree from Georgetown University.
