Star Tribune-MINNEAPOLIS-As the final election results were certifed it is more than noting that a mandated recount under Minnesota laws will happen as law mandates if the election results are 0.5% or less for a lead triggers a automatic recount[1]

Certifications in the Population Centers are Preview to What is To Come

In counties in Minnesota's three largest cities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and St. Cloud in which votes have changed only shows a preview of what will lie ahead as Norm Coleman's lead which shrunk from 700 plus votes to some 200 votes. The recount is mandated under Minnesota law which passed in 2004 which mandates an automatic recount if a candidate is less than 1 percent of the lead[1].

Both campaigns have observers watching the recount in critical counties like Hennipen and Ramsey Counties and this recount could bring attorneys across the nation into Minnesota to help make sure the process is done in a legal manner[1].
