Redford Township Fire & Police Levy Addition (August 2012)
This measure sought to add to the current township levy by a rate of $4.10 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of eight years in order to further pay for a special assessment district which would pay for fire and police operational and maintenance costs in the township. It was approved.

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
|Shall the Charter Township of Redford be authorized to create a Special Assessment District encompassing all of the lands within the Township pursuant to Public Act 33 of 1951 for the funding of police and fire personnel, vehicles, apparatus, equipment, and housing and for the continued maintenance and operation of the Township’s Police Department and Fire Department? The maximum assessment levy in a one-year period shall be 10.0 mills. The Special Assessment District shall expire on December 31, 2020. The proposed special assessment levy for the first year is estimated to be 4.1 mills which would equal $4.10 per $1,000 of taxable value of all real property in the Township, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $2,850,000.|
